Rate the Access is here to help

Access to a facility whether it’s a mall, a movie theater, a medical building, office building, concert venue, sporting event, and so forth, is a critical part of everyday life. I created “Rate The Access”  to provide a forum for discussing the challenges each of us face based on our own circumstances.

Over time, more and more categories will emerge as you and I exchange experiences. A common rating system will be developed to simplify the process so that those who want to know the observations of others have a basis fro deciding how to access that location or facility. As we all know, language can be very imprecise and so together we will develop a common framework.

I invite input from those of you who feel frustrated when arriving at a venue to find that the access is difficult, challenging or just frustrating and thereby diminishing your enjoyment and quality of life.

I am starting with the word “challenged,” however, as one who is “disabled” I include “handicapped,” “frustrated,” “burdened,” “special needs,” whether temporary or permanent in nature, “hindered,” or “distracted,”  physical size differences; whether small, medium, or large, or overweight or underweight, in my descriptions. I apologize in advance if I have failed to cover a description that you feel is more apt to your circumstance.

I invite you to propose new categories or clarify the existing ones. Hopefully this site will make life better by the knowledge that is exchanged.
